PAINTING
This is a piece where I experimented with the basic techniques of dimensions within shading and highlights. The medium I used was oil paint on a canvas.
Using oil on a canvas I experiment with shading and highlights as well as angles to create a piece with the illusion of it being 3D.
This piece is more personal to me as it consists of my dog. I used oil paint to blend the colours together as well as create hair like strokes, I also experimented with creating shadows and reflections.
For this painting, I used acrylic paint as well as a few images I took. The images consist of my sister and mother as the theme behind this was 'Beginning and end' and my intention was the take a piece of each of them and replicate it with paint onto the others face representing the youth and the adulthood within a person.
Similar to a mixed media piece I made, this oil painting contains a koi fish which is believed to symbolise and represents good fortune within the Chinese culture.
